Star SA mare and her priceless filly
Klawervlei Stud’s Laptop Lady is one of the best broodmares in the country. Not only is the daughter of Al Mufti dam of a champion and promising young sire and a top sprinter, but Laptop Lady’s yearlings have proven hugely successful in the sales ring as well.
Her best son, to date, is former record breaking champion Jay Peg (Camden Park), whose eight career wins included two of the world’s greatest races – the Gr1 Dubai Duty Free and Gr1 Singapore Airlines International Cup.
An Equus Champion at three, Jay Peg won over R40 000 000 in prize money, and captured four Grade One races during his record breaking career.
Jay Peg is now a promising Klawervlei based sire, with his first crop having already yielded such graded stakes winners as Flash Drive and Olympic Owen.
His dam, who is also responsible for the Grade 3 winning sprinter, Cyber Case, has also been a sensation in the sales ring. Laptop Lady’s son, One Sunday Morning, was the joint sales topper at the inaugural Cape Premier Yearling Sale, where he fetched R2 500 000.
In 2013, a Seventh Rock filly, out of Laptop Lady, fetched R1 200 000 at the Cape Premier Yearling Sale (Book 1) – and is the top priced yearling sired by Seventh Rock thus far.
Laptop Lady has a Silvano filly at foot this year.
This filly is truly a blue blooded lass – not only is she by a great sire and out of a top mare, but she is bred on the same Silvano/Al Mufti cross which produced such Gr1 stars as Bold Silvano and Kings Gambit.
