Klipdrif’s exciting young sire Elusive Fort made headlines this weekend, when his only two runners at Scottsville on Sunday both won.
Elusive Fort’s beautifully bred son Exclusively Trendy broke his maiden in smart style when scoring over 1000m for trainer Dennis Bosch and owners The Fire Racing Trust.
A R120 000 buy from last year’s National Two Year Old Sale, the lightly raced colt is out of the winning Silvano mare September Morn.
Elusive Fort’s second runner, and winner, on Sunday, came in the form of the Mayfair Speculators owned Great Value.
Making just his second racetrack appearance, the Wickensburg Stud bred gelding ran on nicely to break his maiden over 1400m.
Great Value is one of eight winners to have emerged from Elusive Fort’s current crop of 3yos. This crop also includes Listed Somerset 1200 runner up Elevated, the G1 filly Safe Harbour and the very highly rated filly Smokey Affair.
Former Equus Champion and classic winner Elusive Fort (whose full sister produced last season’s G3 Winter Derby hero Elusive Silva) has already made a considerable mark on the South African turf, with his first crops including the G1 winners Siren’s Call (SA Fillies Classic) and Lauderdale (Thekwini Stakes).
