Trippi dominates Grade One feature

Seldom, if ever, has one stallion dominated a Grade One feature as has Drakenstein Stud’s resident sire Trippi.

Real Princess

Real Princess

The latter is the sire of no fewer than six of the 14 runners for Greyville’s G1 Mercury Sprint this Saturday –making nearly 50% percent of the field for this R800 000 prize sons or daughters of Trippi!
Trippi’s runners in the Mercury Sprint are Trip To Heaven, Trip Tease, Night Trip, Triptique, Real Princess and Lanner Falcon.

Remarkably, all are graded winners –with Trip To Heaven, Triptique, Real Princess and Lanner Falcon all having captured South African graded races this season, and both Trip To Heaven (Rising Sun Gold Challenge) and Real Princess (City Of Pietermaritzburg Fillies Sprint) have finished first past the post in G1 races this season.

Currently South Africa’s Leading Sire by Stakes, Trippi has been represented by 11 individual stakes winners in 2015-2016, with his progeny having won 16 individual black type races, as well as the inaugural CTS Million Dollar.

The son of End Sweep (who also lies third on the Leading Sires of 2YOS List) has a single lot on offer at next month’s CTS August Two-Year-Old Sale in Cape Town:
