The legacy of Trippi’s outstanding daughter Miss Macy Sue continues to grow. The dam of recent G1 Breeders Cup Dirt Mile hero Liam’s Map (by Unbridled’s Song), Miss Macy Sue’s daughter Minnie Macy was knocked down to Crupi’s New Farm for $500 000 at Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale.
Consigned by Taylor Made Farms, the daughter of A P Indy raced just once and sold in foal to dual US Horse Of The Year and prominent sire Curlin.
The latter, whose progeny include Keen Ice –conqueror of American Pharoah in this year’s G1 Travers Stakes, will stand for a fee of $100 000 in 2016.
Minnie Macy, whose sole foal to date is an unnamed colt by champion sprinter Midnight Lute, is a half sister to not only Liam’s Map but also Any Limit Stakes winner Taylor S. Their dam, Miss Macy Sue, won 11 races including the G3 Winning Colors Stakes. In total, the daughter of Trippi won six stakes races and placed in another six black type races.
However, the track record breaking Miss Macy Sue, whose dam ended up in Saudi Arabia, is best known as the dam of the mighty Liam’s Map. The latter, who will stand his first season at Lane’s End Stud in 2016 for a fee of $25 000, was an outstanding racehorse who won six of his eight starts.
Liam’s Map’s six career wins, which netted him over $1.3 million in stakes, included not only the recent Dirt Mile (in which he set a new track record) but also the G1 Woodward Stakes.
He also ran second to the brilliant Honor Code in the 2015 Whitney Stakes.
