Trippi takes high ranking in sire lists
Drakenstein Stud’s outstanding sire Trippi is having an unbelievable season and recently his progeny cracked the R10 million barrier for the 2014-2015 season. With more than four months of the season still left to go, one can but wonder how high Trippi’s progeny will climb.
Remarkably, the son of End Sweep takes high ranking in seven leading sires lists. Trippi is currently the leading sire in South Africa by stakes on sand, sire of 3yos (by stakes), and he is also ranks second, to the unstoppable Dynasty, on the general sires list.
He has been represented by five stakes winners this season, who have won eight graded or listed races already. Trippi’s top runners for the season thus far include the brilliant Inara, winner of both the Gr1 Maine Chance Farms Paddock Stakes and Gr1 Klawervlei Majorca Stakes.
Trippi’s remarkable season has also seen him currently atop the leading sires of 3yos by Average Earnings Per Runner. Remarkably, his 3yos’ average earnings are an impressive R94, 668, placing him above the likes of Elusive Fort, Western Winter, Dynasty, Tiger Ridge, Lateral and Captain Al.
A consistent source of high class 2yos of both sexes, Trippi’s juveniles have once again made an excellent start to the season.
Occupying fourth spot on the 2yo log at the time of writing, Trippi, whose son Journeyman was an impressive recent winner in Dubai, has been represented by just six 2yo runners to date. Remarkably, all six have either won or finished in the money – suggesting their sire is on track for another superb season with his juveniles.
The sire of 49 individual stakes winners, Trippi’s offspring have amassed more than $50 million to date. And his remarkable run of success this year shows no sign of slowing!
