Primrose Lane, a daughter of Varsfontein Stud’s boom sire Gimmethegreenlight, made it two wins from as many outings when she won over 1000m at Kenilworth on Saturday.
A 10-1 shot when winning on debut (when beating a pair of subsequent winners), Primrose Lane maintained her undefeated record when running out a game winner of a FM 68 handicap over 1000m, when conquering Harakiri by a neck.
Owned by her breeder Hassen Adams, Primrose Lane is out of the three time winning Cape Cross mare Chariya.
The three-year-old filly maintained the great run of form that offspring of Gimmethegreenlight have already enjoyed in 2016-2017.
To date, the son of More Than Ready has already been represented by 12 winners this season thus far, with his winners including Bloodstock SA Million Sprint hero Hack Green and Bloodstock SA Million Mile hero Legend.
Gimmethegreenlight, whose first crop are now three, is currently fourth on the General Sires List –behind only Trippi, Silvano and Kahal.
Out of the Canny Lad mare Yes She Can Cancan, Gimmethegreenlight is a half brother to G1 Coolmore Classic heroine Ofcourseican (Mossman) and from the same family as another top class Australian filly and G1 performer in Gregers (Commands) and G1 Golden Slipper winner Hartshill (My Heart).
