Lammerskraal’s exciting new sire Visionaire has made a flying start to the new season and the former G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winner was at it again this weekend.
This time, Visionaire was represented by a smart pair of winners, with Copper Pot saluting at Turffontein on Saturday and See The Sea scoring at Greyville on Sunday.
Remarkably, Visionaire only had three runners at Turffontein on Saturday –and all three finished in the money!
His son Copper Pot, trained by Sean Tarry –as is Visionaire’s classic winning daughter Heaps Of Fun, showed his grit when winning over 1450m at just the second time of asking.
Bred by Summerhill Stud, Copper Pot is out of the Gallic League mare Winning Glory- which makes the colt a half brother to 34 time winner Hear The Drums.
Copper Pot is also a stable mate to G1 performer Africa Rising, who was not disgraced when finishing second to the older Mogok Master on the same card.
Visionaire’s second winner on the weekend came in the form of his daughter See The Sea, who made a winning polytrack debut when getting up to score by a neck over 1200m at Greyville’s Sunday meeting.
One of four winners on the card for leading KZN trainer Dennis Drier, See The Star was another bred by Summerhill Stud.
Visionaire has a single lot on offer at next month’s CTS Ready To Run Sale Presented by Lanzerac Hotel & Spa -a half brother to seven winners, including G1 performer Patriotic Rebel, with the colt’s second dam being former G1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship winner Rebellious (Lot13).
