Weekend treble for log leader Trippi

Drakenstein Stud’s newly crowned Champion Sire Trippi has made a blistering start to the 2016-2017 racing season and is currently heading South Africa’s General Sires List.
Already, at this early stage in the season, Trippi sired runners have earned over R700 000 (more than double runner up Silvano) and he is currently clear of former champion sires Silvano, Fort Wood and Captain Al.

End Sweep’s magnificent son, who looked an absolute picture at the recent Drakenstein Stud Stallion Day, had another treble of winners on Saturday, and Trippi looks on course for another tremendous season in 2016-2017.

His weekend treble included his daughter Trip Queens scoring an effortless maiden win at Turffontein, while another Trippi filly to get off the mark on Saturday was Harakiri, who broke her maiden by over three lengths at Kenilworth.

Trippi was also responsible for California Girl, who made a stylish winning debut over 1000m at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Bred by Klawervlei Stud, California Girl (who is trained by Geoff Woodruff for Mayfair Speculators) came with a late rattle to win first time out by a length and a quarter.

She is one of a number of exciting 3yos representing Trippi this year, with this tally including G1 Thekwini Stakes runner up Dawn Calling, Listed Storm Bird Stakes winner Flying Myth, and Listed Perfect Promise Sprint runner up Live Life.
