Well bred Trippi fillies salute at Scottsville

It was a double for leading sire Trippi at Scottsville on Wednesday, when his well bred daughters Polar Trip and Real Princess won their respective heats.tr02

Bred and owned by Klawervlei, the consistent Polar Trip bolted home to break her maiden by nearly seven lengths over 1000m. The Garth Puller trained three-year-old has been the sole of consistency thus far, and has now won or placed in four of her six outings.

Polar Trip’s paternal half-sister Real Princess has long been held in high regard by trainer Dean Kannemeyer. The 3yo, a R2.7 million buy at the 2013 Cape Premier Yearling Sale (Book 1), made it four wins from just seven outings when romping home to land a pinnacle stakes over 1100m on Wednesday, to score by nearly four lengths over the talented Garibondy. Also bred by Klawervlei, the Khaya Stables owned filly looks a sprinter of real talent and Real Princess looks a filly of feature race potential.

Trippi, whose sire End Sweep is the broodmare sire of impressive G2 Queen Mary Stakes winner Acapulco, has enjoyed another superb season in 2014-2015, highlighted by the deeds of his dual Grade One winning daughter Inara.

He has two lots on offer at Sunday’s Klawervlei Farm Sale – a filly from the world class family responsible for star Aussie 2yo Pride Of Dubai as well as world leading sires Invincible Spirit and Kodiac (Lot 35) and a filly out of a stakes placed Gone West mare, from the family of leading sires Encosta De Lago, Flying Spur, Holy Roman Emperor and Night Shift.

Trippi also has a filly on offer at next month’s Suncoast KZN Yearling Sale – catalogued as lot 72, this filly is out of a stakes placed daughter of champion US sire Thunder Gulch, and her half sister is the high class G3 performer Murmuring Sky.
