Wicklow Stud’s nine strong Two Year Old Sale draft

Rennie Price’s Wicklow Stud will be offering nine quality lots at the 2017 National Two Year Old Sale on August 17th and 18th.

Lot 199

The farm, which bred G2 Al Rashidiya winner Forries Waltz, will be offering lots by some of South Africa’s most successful sires, including the hugely exciting sire Twice Over. The latter, whose first crop runners included the unbeaten G1 Tsogo Sun Gold Medallion winner Sand And Sea, is the sire of a filly whose dam is a sister to a stakes performer and whose relatives include such G1 winners as Nania, Red Ray, Rudra and triple G1 winner Set Afire (Lot 199).

Well established sire Judpot, whose 2yos last season included G2 Golden Slipper runner up Let It Flow, has a filly intriguingly inbred to the great mare Pasadoble (second dam of Judpot himself), and this is the family of not only classic winners Kingmambo and East Of The Moon, but Breeders’ Cup Mile winners Karakontie and Six Perfections (Lot 275).

Kingmambo’s son Mambo In Seattle, sire of high class fillies Same Jurisdiction and Desert Rhythm, is the sire of a filly out of a five time stakes winning daughter of Model Man (Lot 2), while Mambo In Seattle’s champion stablemate Marchfield has two lots in the draft –a half-sister to the smart stakes placed filly Silvan Spirit (Lot 109) and a colt whose Kahal sired stakes placed dam is a half-sister to G1 GommaGomma Challenge winner Pick Six (Lot 149).

Lot 174

Kris S’s well bred son Philanthropist’s first local crop included seven stakes horses and the chestnut sire has one here –a colt, closely inbred to the great sire Roberto, whose winning dam is an own sister to stakes winning G1 filly Captain Gamble and half-sister to Derby winner Liquid Mercury, since a winner in Dubai as well (Lot 174).

July winner and champion Bold Silvano has a colt on offer whose dam is a half-sister to British G2 winner Madame Trop Vite (Lot273), while the superbly bred triple G1 winner and G1 Investec Cape Derby winner Jackson is responsible for a filly from the same family as US champion, classic winner and leading US sire Bernardini (Lot 352).

Lot 352

Sadly now deceased, Sail From Seattle has enjoyed a great year thus far, with his son Sail South landing the G1 World Sports Betting Champions Cup, and he has a filly here, from the great Drohsky family, whose relatives include the brilliant recent debut winner Noble Secret and G1 Computaform Sprint winner Noble Heir (Lot 357).
