An I Am Invincible colt, who hails from the same family as Cheveley Stud’s well performed young stallion Wylie Hall, made waves on the third day of the 2018 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Consigned by Segenhoe Stud (as Agent), the bay colt was knocked down to James Harron Bloodstock for AUS$1 900 000 –or more than R18.6 million.
Catalogued as lot 686, the bay is from an illustrious family. A half brother to 2 winners, including G3 SAJC Breeders Stakes winner Broadband (by Sebring), he is out of a three time winning daughter of multiple champion sire Redoute’s Choice (also sire of Wylie Hall) by the name of Electric Dreams.
The colt’s third dam is the six time winning and stakes placed Whiskey Road mare Voltage-a daughter of Electric Belle. The latter is granddam of Wylie Hall.
Voltage was herself an outstanding producer, foaling G1 winners Drum (Oakleigh Plate) and Wylie Hal’s ¾ sister Anamato (Australasian Oaks). She is also granddam of Australian champion Grand Armee, who earned more than AUS$5.3 million during his career.
Wylie Hall himself was a top class racehorse, who earned over R3.6 million and finished first past the post in the 2014 G1 Vodacom Durban July. He also captured the G1 Champions Challenge and G1 SA Derby, as well as the G2 Colorado King Stakes.
The son of Redoute’s Choice (sire of Australian’s red hot champion sire Snitzel) has six members of his first crop on offer at the 2018 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
Wylie Hall’s first sales draft includes a colt out of a half-sister to G1 winner Imperious Star (Lot 55), a filly out of a nine time winning own sister to Matchem Stakes winner Majestic Sun (Lot 71), and a filly out of a winning half-sister to the dual G1 winning sire of unbeaten legend Black Caviar (Lot 251).
