Zobens – an exciting future prospect
The Favour Stud bred and owned Zobens is one of the most exciting 2yos currently in training in the Eastern Cape.

Zobens, narrowly beaten in the Listed Dahlia Plate, has won his last two starts in facile fashion (winning in the easiest fashion by a combined margin of seven lengths), and looks a major contender for top honours when he competes in the Gr3 Champions Juvenile Cup.

From the promising first local crop of by the legendary Horse Chestnut, Zobens is one of 14 runners set to compete in the 1400m contest, due to be run at Fairview on July 12th.
Some outstanding horses have competed in the Juvenile Cup – most memorably Equus Champion Bold Silvano, while subsequent Horse of the Year Variety Club ran second in the race behind In A Rush.

Zobens was selected by Gavin Smith on Favour Stud as a yearling. He was prepared by Renate Du Plessis both training assistant and stud manager at Favour Stud for entry for the Cape Thoroughbred Sales R2 Million RTR Sale on 14 December 2012.

Unfortunately Favour Stud no longer own Zobens’ dam, State Your Choice, who died shortly after giving birth to him.
