19 for Oratorio
Avontuur Thoroughbred Estate’s world class new stallion, Oratorio, was represented by his 19th stakes winner in 2013, when his 2yo daughter Cape Factor won the Listed Bosra Sham Stakes over 1200m at Newmarket.
Cape Factor, who has now won four of her five starts this season, looks an exciting prospect for next season. She is out of the unraced Cape Cross mare, Crossanza.
Oratorio, who is set to be crowned Champion Sire in Italy for the second year in a row, has enjoyed another magnificent season in 2013.
His pattern race winners for the year include Biz The Nurse, Moonwalk In Paris, Military Attack and Viztoria, and Oratorio is also the sire of recent Breeders Cup contender, Clenor.
Oratorio’s stock have proved successful all over the world, with his stock having won Grade/Group One races in all of Australia, Britain, Hong Kong, Italy and New Zealand, to name just a few.
Earlier this year, Oratorio’s son, Military Attack, was earlier named Hong Kong’s Horse of the Year, following wins in the Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup and Singapore Airlines International Cup – two of the world’s richest G1 contests.
Fully booked for his first South African season, Oratorio stood the 2013 season for a fee of R80 000.
