Bright start for Over

Bright start for Over
Klawervlei Stud’s UK and European Champion, Twice Over, has made an excellent start to his stud career.
The multiple Group One winner has already had four first mares tested in foal, and he is set to cover an outstanding book of mares during his first season at stud.

Among Twice Over’s prospective mates are such high-class racemares as Escoleta Fitz (Equus Champion), Captain’s Call (Gr2 The Debutante), Countess Corlia (Gr3 Champagne Stakes), Monyela (Equus Champion), Nania (Gr1 Thekwini Stakes), Private Reserve (unbeaten champion), and Trinity House (Gr3 winning half-sister to champion Vercingetorix).

The dual Champion Stakes winner is also set to cover some mares with world-class pedigrees. His mares for the 2013 season will include mares related to such outstanding performers as Danehill, Shirley Heights, and Diminuendo.

Twice Over will also be visited by Elliodor matron Mamushka – dam of the world-class sprinter Tiza. The latter won 13 races and over EU 500,000 during his illustrious career and won seven Group/Listed races.
American bred Gone West mare Late Summer, dam of Italian 1000 Guineas heroine Evading Tempete, is also on his visitor list.

The broodmare sires of his mates include Al Mufti, Captain Al, Caesour, Commands, Danzig, Elliodor, Fort Wood, Galileo, Giant’s Causeway, Model Man, Rock of Gibraltar, etc.

One of the best performed horses ever to stand at stud in South Africa, Twice Over was a magnificent racehorse. He retired to stud having won 12 races and over $4 000 000 in prize money. His wins included the G1 Champion Stakes twice, G1 Eclipse Stakes and G1 Juddmonte International Stakes.

Twice Over, who had a Timeform Rating of 128, was as sound as he was brilliant. He raced at the highest level, sound, from two to seven and defeated many of the world’s greatest racehorses. Among the stars beaten by Twice Over were champions Midday, Raven’s Pass, Sariska, Fame And Glory, Summer Bird, Dar Re Mi and Vision D’Etat.

His first year covering fee has been set at R80 000.
