The Cheveley Stud bred B Twenty One made an eye catching winning debut at Greyville on Sunday.
A daughter of former champion sire Silvano, B Twenty One clearly had been showing plenty at home and was backed to start a 13-10 favourite for a maiden plate for fillies and mares over 1200m.
The blue blooded 3yo, who had cost owners Peter White and Mauritzfontein Stud R340 000 at the 2014 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale, ran on strongly to score by a neck first time out.
B Twenty One, who is out of G2 Fillies Championship winner Park Lane, is bred on the same Silvano/Elliodor cross as dual G1 winner and Equus Champion Aslan, as well as G2 Drill Hall Stakes winner and G1 Champions Cup runner up Ice Machine.
Her sire Silvano, who was South Africa’s Champion Sire in 2012-2013, is enjoying another fantastic season in 2015-2016.
The charismatic bay son of Lomitas is currently South Africa’s leading sire, by prize money (according to the NHA), with his four individual stakes winners this season including the brilliant 3yo filly, and G1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas winner Silver Mountain.
The sire of 16 Grade One winners to date (a tally which includes the promising young sire Bold Silvano), Silvano has a stellar draft of 22 blue blooded yearlings on offer at April’s National Yearling Sale. His draft includes a half sister to promising 3yo filly Noor (Lot 82), an own brother to G3 Graham Beck Stakes and Dubai based runner Whistle Stop (Lot 108), a colt out of Horse Of The Year Ilha Da Vitoria (Lot 141), a three parts sister to the Silvano sired July winner Power King (Lot 232), a filly out of champion Princess Victoria (Lot 273), a colt out of the G1 winning 2yo Royal Fantasy (Lot 297) and a half brother to this season’s top class filly Negroamaro (Lot 388).
