Colorado King win for Lateral son

Unparalleled, a son of Maine Chance Farms’ sire Lateral, picked up the second graded win of his career when he was awarded victory in Saturday’s G2 Colorado King Stakes at Turffontein.
Bred by The Alchemy, Unparalleled was awarded the victory in the R400 000 following an objection laid against the original winner Stonehenge, after the latter was deemed to have interfered with runner up Unparalleled in the closing stages of the 2000m contest.

In the process, Unparalleled picked up the fourth win, and second graded success of his career –with the four-year-old having previously accounted for champions Harry’s Son and French Navy when successful in the G2 Investec Dingaans of 2014.
Unparalled once again proved too strong for Equus Champion French Navy in Saturday’s G2 contest (which honours one of South Africa’s greatest champions), when French Navy could only finish third, beaten 1.55 lengths.

The Johan Janse Van Vuuren trained gelding has now earned just under R1 000 000 and could run in the G1 Champions Challenge at Turffontein at the end of April.
