Cracking debut for pricey Dynasty colt
Highlands Farm’s outstanding sire Dynasty had a superb season in 2013-2014 – and the former Horse Of The Year has gotten off to another good start this season.

One of the reasons for  Dynasty’s good start this season is his impressive looking son Heartland. Bred by Highlands, the 3yo made a smashing debut over 1200m at Kenilworth on Saturday when he pulverized his opponents to win by nine and three quarter lengths.

A prohibitive 5-10 favourite, Heartland was most impressive, and looks to be yet another exciting runner to represent Dynasty.

A full-brother to multiple Grade 1 winner and new Highlands sire Jackson, Heartland was the fourth top lot at the 2013 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale –where he was knocked down for R2.2 million.

The colt is out of the winning Cozzene mare Moonlit Prairie, who is not only the dam of Jackson but has also produced the high-class sprinter Jade Bay (by Jallad), who was victorious in the 2013 Gr3 Lebelo Sprint.

Dynasty, whose Jackson topped the National 2YO Sale back in 2010, is once again well represented at the 2014 Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale this week.
The son of Fort Wood has seven lots at the sale, which begins on Wednesday, including a half-sister to Equus Champion Rabiya (Lot 354), and a colt out of Gr3 Umzimkhulu Hcp winner Honour And Glory (Lot 229).
