Wilgerbosdrift’s exciting recent sire acquisition Flower Alley was represented by his 15th stakes winner when Lukes Alley won the Gr3 Durham Cup at Woodbine on Saturday.

Lukes Alley, who was produced by the A.P. Indy mare Vaulcluse, was winning his fifth race from just eight starts for prominent owner Eugene Melnyk (who also campaigned Flower Alley).
A 5yo entire, Lukes Alley is one of 10 black type performers for Flower Alley this year.

Top performers for the well bred stallion in 2014 include Karibu Gardens (winner of the Gr2 Sky Classic Stakes on turf), star filly My Wandy’s Girl, and multiple stakes winner Awesome Flower.
Flower Alley, whose progeny also includes Kentucky Derby winning champion I’ll Have Another, is a son of champion US sire Distorted Humor and hails from the same female line as legendary stallion Lyphard.
The Grade 1 winning Flower Alley, successful in the 2005 Travers Stakes and one of the best performed stallions ever to come to South Africa, is set to stand his first season in South Africa in 2015.
