The 2013-2014 season has been an excellent one for Highlands’s champion sire Dynasty.
Dynasty, who has two runners in Saturday’s R3.5 million Vodacom Durban July – including favourite Legislate, had yet another feature race double at Kenilworth this Saturday.

Daughter, Irish Myth, became Dynasty’s 20th stakes winner when landing the Listed Winter Oaks. A full-sister to former Horse Of The Year Irish Flame (one of two Dynasty sire sons at stud for the 2014 breeding season), Irish Myth came from the back of the field to register a convincing 1.25 length in the R150 000 Winter Oaks. Bred by the Tawny Syndicate, Irish Myth is out of the former Winter Oaks winner Clock The Rock-  a daughter of Horse Of the Year Flaming Rock.

Just one race later, Dynastic Power gave Dynasty his 21st stakes winner when

defeating the brilliant Power King to win the Gr3 Winter Derby.  A talented sort, Dynasty Power has now won or been placed in four features, and will now be aimed at some of the rich features in the 2014 Cape Summer Season. Bred by Highlands, Dynastic Power was a R500 000 buy at the
He is the third stakes winner produced by winning Royal Prerogative mare Crimson Lily – who is also the dam of Red Badge (Gr2 J&B Reserve Stayers Hcp) and Ravishing (Gr1 SA Derby, sire).

Dynasty, who is currently fourth on the general sires log with his runners having earned over R11 million this season, has been represented by 14 stakes performers during 2013-2014.
