Varsfontein Stud have a really strong draft on offer at the 2014 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
The farm will offer 24 well bred yearlings, and also act as agent for another 8 lots at the National Sale.

Amongst Varsfontein’s draft for the National Sale are yearlings by top sires Captain Al, Var, Western Winter as well as their sensational young stallion Judpot.

Their draft includes siblings to such stakes winners as School Assembly, Sabina Park, Master Of My Fate, and True Master, as well as yearlings out of the high-class Graded Stakes winning mares Bushra, Duchess Daba, Promisefrommyheart, Sunsational and Townsend.

Varsfontein are also offering (as agent) a superbly bred son of Champion Sire Silvano. Catalogued as lot 409, Malinga is out of the stakes placed Al Mufti mare, Little Indian.

Not only is Malinga bred on the highly successful Silvano/Al Mufti cross (which has already produced Equus Champions Kings Gambit and Bold Silvano), he is a half-brother to one of this season’s outstanding performers, Yorker.

The huge Yorker, a son of Jet Master, was a R1.8 million buy at the 2011 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
Trained by Geoff Woodruff, Yorker has proven one of the stars of the season, having won the Gr1 Sansui Summer Cup, run second in the Gr1 J&B Met, and recently captured the Gr1 H F Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut Stakes.

To date, Yorker (now a five time winner), has earned over R2.5 million in prize money. The 4yo is set to line up next in the R2 000 000 Gr1 Champions Challenge at Turffontein on April 26th, where he could add further to his already impressive stake money.
