Group One win for World sister

Group One win for World sister
Mauritzfontein’s blue blooded young sire, Ideal World, is a half-brother to Sunday’s Gp1 Prix Jean Romanet winner, Romantica.

Romantica, a daughter of Galileo, has now won four of her nine outings. The 4yo filly is now a three time stakes winner, having previously captured both the Gp3 Prix de la Nonette and the Gp3 Prix Allez France.

The stakes winning siblings are both out of former Eclipse Champion, Banks Hill. The latter, who accounted for the ill-fated South African champion Spook Express when she won the 2001 Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Turf, won over GBP1 000 000. Banks Hill won or placed in 11 Group/Grade One races. Her dam, Hasili, is one of the great broodmares of the modern stud book –  having produced a champion sire in Dansili and no fewer than five Group/Grade One winners. Another of Hasili’s sons, Cacique, is a Group One sire – despite having fertility issues, while Cacique’s full brother, Champs Elysees, is one of Britain’s leading first crop sires.

Ideal World, a son of world leading sire Kingmambo (a half-brother to recent Equus Award winner Judpot), will be represented by his first runners later this year.

He stands at Mauritzfontein for a stud fee of R50 000.
