Hot young sire’s half-brother nominated to the US Triple Crown
Equus Prime, a half-brother to Highlands Farm’s exciting young sire Antonius Pius, has been nominated to the US Triple Crown. This three race series is composed of the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes.

Equus Prime, a colt by the late sire Dynaformer, is out of the unbeaten racemare, Catchascatchcan.

Catchascatchcan, whose unbeaten run included a score in the G1 Yorkshire Oaks, is the dam of Highlands Farms’ promising young stallion, Antonius Pius.

Currently one of the country’s leading first crop sires, Antonius Pius has had three winners and a placed horse from just four runners with his first local crop now two.

The son of Danzig is also fifth on the juvenile sires list.

He stands at Highlands Farm, and had a 2012 stud fee of R15,000.
