Impressive debut winner for Rock
Klawervlei Stud’s promising young sire Seventh Rock was represented by the fourth winner from his first crop of 2yos on Thursday.
His daughter, Seven Whispers, made a sparkling debut to win first time out over 1200m for trainer Barend Botes.

Bred and owned by Eclipse Racing and Breeding CC, Seven Whispers (a half-sister to the useful filly Up Front) is out of the winning Royal Academy mare, Whispering Academy.

Seventh Rock, winner of the Gr1 Gold Medallion at two, has made a promising start to his stud career.
His first winners include Guiness and Seven Grand, who are entered for the Gr1 Tsogo Sun Medallion and Gr1 Allan Robertson Championship respectively.

A son of world leading sire Rock Of Gibraltar (whose sire sons include the very promising Group One winner Mount Nelson), Seventh Rock is out of former champion Ruby Clipper, whilst his second dam, Miss Clipper, won the Gr1 Australian Oaks.

A top-class performer at two and three, Seventh Rock has also proven very popular in the sales ring.

A colt out of Burning Gold was knocked down to Shane Humby for R625 000 at the 2014 Cape Premier Yearling Sale, whilst a Seventh Rock colt was sold for R700 000 at the 2014 March Yearling Sale.
