1-4 for Dynasty in Jockey Club Stakes

28th Aug 2017

Highlands Stud’s great stallion Dynasty has been enjoying a wonderful trot of late with his daughters and his Harvard Crimson became the latest Dynasty daughter to impress when she won the Listed Jockey Club Stakes at Fairview on Friday afternoon by nearly three lengths.

Bela-Bela

In the process Harvard Crimson, whose trainer Justin Snaith also saddled the runner up and fourth in the Jockey Club Stakes, became the 48th stakes winner for her four times Equus Outstanding Stallion Dynasty.
It was a fitting victory for Harvard Crimson, who had finished second in the same race 12 months ago, and who had also previously filled the second berth in the Listed East Cape Paddock Stakes. Her victory in Friday’s R150 000 race pushed Harvard Crimson’s earnings to over R420 000.

Bred by Snaith Racing, Havard Crimson was originally bought for R60 000 at the 2013 Cape Ready To Run Sale, but was subsequently sold, to current owners Jaco and Carolyn Erasmus, for R75 000 at this year’s Cape Mare Sale.

The 2017 Jockey Club Stakes winner is one of seven stakes winners produced in Dynasty’s 2011 foal crop which included G1 Cape Guineas winner Act Of War, G2 Fillies Guineas winner Alexis and the graded winners Heartland and Olma.

The 2017 Jockey Club Stakes was a notable result for Dynasty indeed, with the former Horse Of The Year also responsible for fourth place finisher Qing.

Just Sensual

Sire of last season’s Equus Champion fillies Lady In Black and Just Sensual, as well as former champion fillies Beach Beauty and Bela-Bela, Dynasty has made a blistering start to the new season with his recent winners including such impressive debut scorers as Sir David Baird and Greek Fire.
