Rosedene Stud’s Greys Inn is responsible for dual Horse Of The Year Legal Eagle, who recently picked up his tenth feature race victory when successful in Saturday’s star-studded G2 World Sports Betting Green Point Stakes at Kenilworth this weekend.
Bred by Avontuur, the ever-green six-year-old made it win number 11, from 20 outings, when he accounted for Equus Champion Edict Of Nantes, and G1 winning stable companions Captain Of America and Sail South in the R400 000 contest. Legal Eagle is now unbeaten in seven outings over a mile, and his earnings now stand at R9 650 875.
Legal Eagle, who is trained by South African champion Sean Tarry, was winning the Green Point for a second year in a row, having accounted for subsequent G1 Vodacom Durban July winner Marinaresco when successful in the 2016 renewal.
A six time Equus Award winner, Legal Eagle was a R425 000 purchase from the 2013 National Yearling Sale.
His sire Greys Inn, whose offspring have been winning in droves this season, has a number of other bright feature race hopes this season including G1 Forus Cape Guineas entrant Full Of Attitude,
The former Equus Champion and Vodacom Durban July winner is also sire of recently retired G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge and R1.83 million plus earner King Of Pain.
