50th stakes winner for Dynasty!

8th Nov 2017

Highlands Stud’s outstanding resident stallion Dynasty reached a major landmark in his career when his son Let It Rain won the Listed Java Handicap at the Vaal on Tuesday.

Legislate

The five-year-old, who was bred by Highlands, is the 50th black type for his champion sire, who has no fewer than five Equus Outstanding Stallion awards to his name.

Trained by Weiho Marwing, and ridden to victory by his trainer’s brother Weichong, Let It Rain earned his fifth win on Tuesday, when accounting for Galileo’s talented son Kinaan in the R150 000 feature.

Further back in the Java were such useful performers Amsterdam (2nd G1 SA Classic), 2016 Java winner The Elmo Effect, and Fastnet Rock’s G3 Caradoc Gold Cup winner Ilitshe.

It was a first black type win for Let It Rain, who has now earned R655 388.

The well bred gelding, who has a G1 Summer Cup entry, had previously been placed in all of the G3 Track And Ball Derby, G3 Gold Cup, and G3 Caradoc Gold Cup.

Let It Rain, a R1.3 million buy from the 2014 Cape Premier Yearling Sale, also provided Dynasty with a quick feature race double, with the former Horse of The Year’s son Nassa having captured the G3 SA SA Ladies’ Purse in Hong Kong on Sunday.

Futura

Already sire of three sons named Horse Of The Year (Futura, Legislate and Irish Flame), Dynasty’s 50 black type winners include no fewer than 23 individual G1 performers.

Dynasty’s large string of promising 3yos this season include G1 winners Lady In Black and Eyes Wide Open, as well as impressive debut winner Noble Secret, unbeaten filly Hashtagyolo, and Dynamic Diana, a winner of two of her four starts to date.
