Highlands Farms Stud’s remarkable sire Dynasty has built up a superb record in various 3yo fillies classics around South Africa.
The former Horse Of The Year’s past major 3yo filly classic winners include this season’s impressive G1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas winner Just Sensual, as well as the likes of Bela-Bela (G2 Daisy Fillies Guineas), Beach Beauty (G2 KRA Fillies Guineas) and Alexis (G2 KRA Fillies Guineas).
Dynasty added to this already impressive list when the Highlands bred Smiling Blue Eyes defied a wide trip to romp to a 2.6 length victory in Saturday’s G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas at Turffontein.
Winner of the G3 Fillies Mile at her previous outing, the flashy grey filly made it three wins on the bounce with her impressive victory on Saturday and Smiling Blue Eyes looks a leading contender for the final two legs of the Triple Tiara –the G1 SA Fillies Classic and G2 SA Oaks respectively.
Owned by Al Adaayit South Africa, Smiling Blue Eyes took her earnings to over R540 000 with her first G2 win on Saturday.
She was a R650 000 buy from the 2015 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
Dynasty is enjoying his typical outstanding season in 2016-2017 thus far and is currently South Africa’s fourth leading sire by stakes. He has been represented by six individual stakes winners this season thus far, highlighted by the G1 winners Bela-Bela and Just Sensual.
