Ascot Stud’s homebred July winner Bold Silvano has enjoyed a good trot with his two-year-olds this season and the son of champion sire Silvano looks to have an another above average juvenile in the form of the Danika Stud bred Mazari.
The latter caused an upset when she ran on strongly to beat blue blooded Frankel filly Frankly by a long neck in a juvenile plate over 1000m at Turffontein on Saturday.
Another daughter of Bold Silvano, the previously unbeaten Miss Boomerang, ran third –giving 2kgs to the winner and 5kgs to Frankly!
Trained by Corne Spies, Mazari has now won two of only four starts and she looks destined for bigger and better things.
Produced by the unraced Imperial Stride mare Ivory Palm, Mazari has scored both her career wins over 1000m.
She is one of three juvenile winners representing Bold Silvano this season, with others including the impressive Miss Boomerang and recent debut hero Bold Eagle.
To date, Bold Silvano has been represented by nine 2yo runners in 2017-2018, with six of them either winning or finishing in the money.
Another performers sired by Bold Silvano include Guineas winner Flasher On The Run, the Dubai based G2 performer Bold Rex and Kuda Sprint hero Bold Respect. The latter, a close second in the Listed Sophomore Sprint earlier this season, has already banked more than R1.2 million in prize money.
One of 20 G1 winners sired by Silvano, Bold Silvano has two lots on Sunday’s Cape Yearling Sale.
