Ascot Stud’s July winning sire Bold Silvano looks on course for another bright season with his two-year-olds this season.
The son of champion sire Silvano has been represented by just four juvenile runners this season but they include two impressive winners in the form of Mazari and Miss Boomerang.

The latter, who was bred by the Favour Stud, made it two wins from as many outings when bolting up to win a juvenile plate over 1000m by 1.3  lengths as hot 5-8 favourite at the Vaal on Thursday. Miss Boomerang, now unbeaten in her two starts, looks destined for feature race company –and has won her two races by an aggregate of 5.75 lengths.

Bold Silvano’s first crop made a splash with the likes of the now Dubai based Bold Rex and Guineas winner Flasher On The Run and the Ascot Stud bred champion’s second crop has also fared well thanks to the likes of Kuda Sprint winner Bold Respect. To date, the latter has earned over R1.2 million in prize money and looks a big money spinner for his sire.

A top class athlete, and South Africa’s Equus Champion Middle Distance Horse of 2010, Bold Silvano won six times including the G1 Vodacom Durban July, G2 Betting World 1900 and the G3 Maktoum Challenge.

Among the notable G1 winners/champions defeated by Bold Silvano were the likes of Al Shemali, Gitano Hernando, Crowded House, Pocket Power, Irish Flame, and River Jetez.
