Breeders’ Cup on the cards for Querari, Quasillo sister

14th Sep 2017

Quidura, the talented half-sister to Cape sires Querari and Quasillo, could be aimed at the G1 Breeders’ Cup meeting this year.
The consistent Dubawi daughter has won or placed in six of seven career outings, with her wins including the G3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes at Keeneland last year.

Querari

She was a close and unlucky second, when beaten just a head, in the G1 Diana Stakes last time out –beaten only by the brilliant, five times G1 winner and former Breeders’ Cup heroine Lady Eli.

Quidura is set to make her Canadian debut when contesting Saturday’s G2 Canadian Stakes at Woodbine this weekend.
Her trainer Graham Motion says of the four-year-old, ““She’s run up against some pretty solid competition. It was kind of an odd race in the Diana, when she ended up on the lead. That wasn’t necessarily the plan, but she almost pulled it off. “

Quidura, one of three group/graded winners produced by the stakes winning Acatenango mare Quetena, will once again be ridden by Junior Alvarado this Saturday.

Quasillo

Her half-brothers Querari, standing at Maine Chance Farms, and Quasillo, who stands his first season at Klipdrif Stud in 2017, both reside in the Western Cape.
