Brilliant debut winner for Vercingetorix

Maine Chance Farms’ star sire Vercingetorix came up with a hugely impressive debut winner at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.
His two-year-old daughter Princess Of Gaul turned the first race on the card into a one horse race.
The Dean Kannemeyer trained filly sauntered home, under Craig Zackey, to win the Race Coast -Bright Future For SA Horse Racing Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1100m) by an impressive nine and a half lengths.

Bred by Clive Murphy, the exciting filly races for Alac (Pty) Ltd.

Princess Of Gaul, who is out of the Duke Of Marmalade mare Miss Marmalade, was a R600 000 buy from the 2024 National Yearling Sale.

Her inform sire Vercingetorix had another good weekend this week. The champion son of Silvano also enjoyed success at Turffontein on Saturday with his son Chieftain winning the fifth race on the card.

Set to be crowned South Africa’s Champion Sire for 2024-2025, Vercingetorix has been responsible for 21 stakes winners, who have won 28 black type races, this season.

Vercingetorix is set to be represented by his sons Oriental Charm, Gladatorian. Immediate Edge and Native Ruler in Saturday’s G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July.
