Highlands Stud part of Ridgemont’s well performed new stallion Canford Cliffs could be represented by a runner in the G1 Investec Coronation Cup, due to be run at Epsom on June 1st.

His talented son Salouen, who has also been entered in the G2 Dunaden Jockey Club Stakes, is one of 25 thoroughbreds entered for the mile and a half feature, with other notable entries including standouts Enable and Cracksman.

Trained by Sylvester Kirk, Salouen is out of Galileo mare Gali Gal.

The four-year-old Salouen has won or placed in ten of his 15 outings, and has earned over £200 000 in stakes.

He ended his campaign last year with a third in the G2 Prix Dollar, and previously was second in the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and third in the G1 Racing Post Trophy.

His five time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs is also responsible for current US based smart filly Goodthingstaketime. The latter has been placed in three group/ graded races thus far and most recently finished third, behind unbeaten Breeders’ Cup winner Rushing Fall, in the G2 Appalachian Stakes.

Runner up previously in the G3 Florida Oaks (when beaten a head) Goodthingstaketime looks on course to collect a decent prize before too much longer.
