Count Dubois son maintains unbeaten record

27th Mar 2017

Klawervlei Stud’s resident sire Count Dubois has been enjoying a good run of form of late, and the former champion 2yo was at it again this past weekend.

Count Dubois’ son Social Order, bred by the Boland Stud, made it two wins from as many outings when romping home to a 6.6 length win over 1400m at Turffontein-despite still running green.

The three-year-old gelding had previously scored on debut most impressively, when running out a 4.75 length winner over 1160m and Social Order looks something special in the making.

The same day, saw Count Dubois’ former Equus Champion French Navy finish a close up third in the G2 Colorado King Stakes, and that Armitage bred gelding has now earned more than R4.4 million in prize money.

His sire Count Dubois has a cracking crop of 3yos this season, which also includes the July bound G1 Investec Cape Derby winner Edict Of Nantes, who has already banked nearly R1 000 000 in prize money, and the smart filly Anime (who has been entered for Sunday’s Listed Kwazulu Natal Stakes).

The sire of at least 40 stakes horses including G1 winners Asylum Seeker, Edict Of Nantes, French Navy, Zaitoon and Zeeno, Count Dubois has one lot on offer at the 2017 Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale – a sibling to 2 winners, this colt is out of a three time winning daughter of National Assembly (broodmare sire of Saturday’s devastating debut winner Mustaaqeem) from the family of graded winners Empress Crown and Fire Tread (Lot 53).

The son of Zafonic also has a single lot on offer at the 2017 National Yearling Sale-  a filly (bred on the same cross as G3 winner Kinematic Countess) whose three time winning dam is a half-sister to stakes winner Taipan, and this filly is also a ¾ sister to Count Dubois’s top class daughter Fairyinthewoods, whose 6 wins included the G2 Southern Cross Stakes (Lot 393).
