A half-brother to Klawervlei Stud’s well performed young stallion Coup De Grace is one of the more attractive prospects on offer at Fasig-Tipton’s 2020 The Gulfstream Sale Of Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training on April 1st.
The colt, sired by Union Rags is not only a half-brother to Coup De Grace, but this colt is also a full-brother to G1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes winner Dancing Rags.
Catalogued as lot 6, and consigned by Eddie Woods as Agent, the colt in question is out of G3 Iowa Oaks third Home Court, a Storm Cat daughter of champion racemare, and G1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff queen Jewel Princess.
Further back, this is also the family of graded stakes winners Gerrie Singer, My Princess Jess, and Globalize.
Coup De Grace, who won both the G2 Amsterdam and G3 Bay Shore Stakes during his career, is currently South Africa’s second Leading First Crop Sire by earnings.
The son of multiple US champion sire Tapit has five yearlings on the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale including a colt (Lot 38) from the same family as top racehorses and sires Dubawi and In The Wings, a filly (Lot 60) from the family of What A Winter and Irish 2000 Guineas winner Wassl, and a filly (Lot 101) whose granddam is a Giant’s Causeway half-sister to two German classic winners.
