Mauritzfontein’s well-performed stallion Danon Platina came up with his third stakes winner on Friday.
His daughter Gocekwithlove picked up her biggest win to date when she won the Listed Lady’s Pendant (1200m) on Friday.
Trained by Alan Greeff, the four-year-old was given a fine ride by Charles Ndlovu. Ndlovu bought his mount with a perfectly time ride, hitting the front 150m from home and the pair stayed on to win by half a length.
Bred by Clifton Stud, Gocekwithlove has won five of 13 starts, with the filly having finished first or second in her last five starts.
Gocekwithlove, who is out of the Joshua Dancer mare Samba Serenade, was a R180 000 purchase from the 2022 National Yearling Sale.
The filly joins the likes of Great Plains (G3 Cape Classic) and White Pearl (G2 Mike De Kock Ipi Tombe Challenge) as stakes winners for Danon Platina this season.
Japan’s Champion 2YO Colt of 2014, Danon Platina shares his legendary sire Deep Impact with such proven G1 sires as Study Of Man, Saxon Warrior, Satono Aladdin, Real Steel and Kizuna.
The latter was Champion Sire in Japan in 2024, with Kizuna having sired 38 stakes winners.
Danon Platina has six lots on offer at Sunday’s Cape Yearling Sale and two lots on offer at the Premier Yearling Sale.
