His 3yo gelded son How Does It Taste defied greenness, under the urgings of apprentice Dylan Lerena, to storm home on debut and score by 1.1 lengths over 1200m at Turffontein on Saturday.

Trained by Candice Dawson, How Does It Taste was bred by the Ralphs Syndicate.

Out of the Captain Al mare Alpha Lady, How Does It Taste is bred on the same Jay Peg/Captain Al cross as graded stakes winners Flash Drive and Hot Affair.

He was the third winner since Tuesday for Jay Peg, whose daughter Katia scored at Fairview on Tuesday. Jay Peg is also sire of Line Editor who shed his maiden at Durbanville last Tuesday for trainer Greg Ennion and breeders Klawervlei Stud.

An Equus Champion and G1 winner in three different countries, Jay Peg is a proven sire of stakes winners with his notable progeny included the graded winners Silicone Valley, Woljayrine, Peggy Jay, Olympic Owen, Exit Here and the above mentioned pair of Hot Affair and Flash Drive.
