Varsfontein Stud’s red hot resident sire Master Of My Fate continues to come up with smart looking winners week after week, and the regally bred son of Jet Master was at it again on Saturday.
Master Of My Fate filly Kinky Boots justified plenty of pre-race betting support when getting up late in running to make a winning debut at the Vaal on Saturday.
The Lucky Houdalakis trained three-year-old was given a perfectly judged ride from Marco Van Rensburg, with Van Rensburg timing his challenge to perfection in Saturday’s WSB Racing At It’s Best Maiden Plate (1200m).
The rider managed to coax more from his inexperienced mount with Kinky Boots getting her head down where it mattered most to win by a neck.
Bred by the Ndoro Stud, Kinky Boots is out of the Ideal World mare Exotic Island.
Kinky Boots was one of two winners at the Vaal on Saturday for Master Of My Fate, whose four-year-old son Fateful Day accounted for some classy gallopers when victorious in Saturday’s World Sports Betting Heritage Consolation (1475m).
Under Grand Heritage winning jockey JP Van Der Merwe, the Gavin Van Zyl trained gelding kept galloping resolutely in the closing stages to land the Heritage Consolation by three-parts of a length.
Bred by Varsfontein Stud, Fateful Day has now won four of 15 starts.
The gelding is out of the Captain Al mare Lantana Lady and is thus bred on the same Master Of My Fate/Captain Al cross as graded stakes winners Basadi Faith and Pretty Betty.
Master Of My Fate is having another tremendous season in 2022-2023, and the strapping bay is currently fourth on the South African General Sires List.
