Double for Mambo In Seattle

20th Jan 2017

Moutonshoek’s successful resident sire Mambo In Seattle enjoyed a notable double at the Vaal on Thursday afternoon.
The son of Kingmambo enjoyed a superb afternoon with two of his three runners carded winning their respective races.

Mambo In Seattle’s first winner on the day came in the form of Sleepinseattle, who made it win number three when scoring a half length win over 1400m for trainer Erico Verdonese. Bred by the Gary Player Stud Farm, Sleepinseattle (who is out of the Mistral Dancer mare Honour Dancer), was a R90 000 bargain buy at the 2013 Suncoast KZN Yearling Sale.

His second winner came in the form of Angel Of Light, another trained by Erico Verdonese. This Maine Chance Farms bred filly romped home to post a 2.8 length win over 1200m and she should not stop here. Angel Of Light is out of the Count Dubois mare Angel At My Table.

Mambo In Seattle, whose G1 son Mambo Mime lines up in the R5 000 000 Sun Met on Saturday week, has a pair of smart runners in the following week’s R500 000 CTS Mile in the form of his progressive son I Travel Light and Dancer.

He also has runners in the R1 000 000 Kuda Sprint (Wall Street Trader) and R500 000 CTS Sprint (Extradite).
