Lammerskraal Stud’s well performed young sire Visionaire had a memorable double at Turffontein on Thursday when a pair of his daughters found the winners enclosure.
First to score was promising 2yo Takingthepeace, with the Summerhill Stud bred juvenile turning the tables on her debut conqueror London Secret when victorious by a length and a quarter in a juvenile plate over 1160m. It was another six lengths back to third place finisher Wrap It Up.
Trained by Mike de Kock, Takingthepeace, now a winner and placed in both her two outings, was a R280 000 purchase from last year’s CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale.
Second Visionaire daughter to enjoy success on Thursday was the Roy Magner trainer Comme-Ci-Comma-Ca, who justified some betting support to land the third race of her career, when successful over 1400m. Highly tried, the Summerhill Stud bred filly had been thought good enough to contest the G3 Fillies Mile earlier this season and she should not stop here.
It has been a good week for the G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winning Visionaire, who had another pair of winners at Flamingo Park on Monday.
The son of Grand Slam has 20 yearlings on offer at the upcoming KZN Yearling Sale, including a colt out of Thekwini Stakes winner Bridal Paths (Lot 176), a colt out of stakes winner Choice (Lot 192), and a half-brother to Oaks winner Witchcraft (Lot 209).
