Belgravia, a half-brother to Drakenstein Stud’s exciting sire Duke Of Marmalade is one of an elite group of three-year-olds to hold an entry in the 2017 G1 Investec Derby.

A son of Galileo, Belgravia has made just one outing thus far, but also holds entries in the G1 Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas and G1 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby.
Love Me True, the dam of Belgravia and former Cartier Champion Duke Of Marmalade, has already more than made her mark on the Derby, with Love Me True’s son Ruler Of The World winning The Blue Riband back in 2013 and another son, Giovanni Canaletto, running fourth to champion Golden Horn in the 2015 Investec Derby.
Duke Of Marmalade will also be represented in Sunday’s G2 Santa Ana Stakes by his stakes winning daughter Responsibleforlove.
The classically bred Duke Of Marmalade (his relatives also include US classic winners A P Indy, Lemon Drop Kid and Summer Squall) has a single first South African born yearling on offer at Thursday’s Cape Yearling Sale –a filly (bred on a similar cross to the Duke’s star daughters Simple Verse and Venus De Milo) out of a Fort Wood own sister to a stakes horse, from the family of flying filly, Wild Wolverine (Lot 80).

Duke Of Marmalade, sire of over 50 black type performers, also has two yearlings on the March Yearling Sale next weekend –a colt out of a four time winning Jet Master mare (Lot 10) and a filly whose dam is a Trippi half-sister to G3 winner State Blue (Lot 184).
