Exciting 2yo a boost for Master

27th Mar 2017

Varsfontein Stud’s beautifully bred and well performed young sire Master Of My Fate has a superb female line, and one which produces the goods season after season.
Master Of My Fate looks to have yet another exciting relative in 2016-2017, with his close relative, and G1 Klawervlei Majorca Stakes winner Covenant, the dam of unbeaten 2yo Varallo.

The latter, a R2 000 000 NYS buy for The Fire Racing Trust, made it two wins from as many outings when romping home by 2.75 lengths at Scottsville on Sunday, and Varallo (by Var) looks destined to step up to feature race company before too long.

His dam Covenant, won or placed in 14 of just 16 outings and banked nearly R1 000 000 in a career which saw her win five feature races, including the G2 Sceptre Stakes twice.

Covenant is a half-sister to ill-fated Equus Champion and multiple G1 winner Promisefrommyheart, the dam of G2 Premier Trophy/G2 Peninsula Handicap winner Master Of My Fate.

The latter, a son of seven times champion sire Jet Master, has one lot on next month’s Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale – a half-brother to 3 winners, this colt is out of a half-sister to G1 winning 2yo and sire What A Prospect (Lot 139).

Master Of My Fate has 21 lots on the 2017 National Yearling Sale, including a filly out of a G2 winning Fort Wood mare (Lot 31), a half-sister to multiple feature race winner The Merry Widow (Lot 51), a half-sister to stakes winning filly Solana (Lot 164), a filly from the family of Jet Master’s dual G1 winning daughter Thunder Dance (Lot 184), a three parts-brother to G1 2yo ML Jet (Lot 201), a half-brother to unbeaten 3yo Social Order (Lot 361)
