Maine Chance Farms’ increasingly successful stallion Querari, the Leading Sire of 2Yos in South Africa in 2018-2019, had an impressive looking debut winner at Turffontein on Tuesday.
Querari’s three-year-old daughter Querari Ferrari powered home, from well off the pace, to get up close home and win going away by a short head, when scoring first-time out over 1200m on the inside track.
The Erico Verdonese trained sophomore was bred by Royal Albatross Investments, and she was booted home to victory by apprentice Jason Gates.
Her G1 winning sire Querari has a number of promising three-year-olds representing him this season, including G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper victress Cockney Pride, G1 Thekwini Stakes runner up Mill Queen, and G1 Premiers Champion Stakes second Liberty Hall.
The sire of 35 stakes horses and counting (his tally includes G1 Thekwini Stakes winner Querari Falcon, and exported Gauteng Guineas victor Monks Hood), Querari has a single lot on offer at the 2019 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale, and a further 12 two-year-olds on offer at November’s CTS Ready To Run.
