Classy three-year-old River Power made it five wins from six starts when he landed Sunday’s Zimbabwe 2000.
A fluent winner of the Listed Zimbabwe Guineas last time out, the Debra Swanson trained colt was steered by Deryl Daniels to a half length win.
Bred by Riethuiskraal Stud, River Power is out of the Ideal World mare Shirley Valentine.
Another classy stakes winner bred on the Global View/Ideal World cross is Ideal View.
The latter, winner of the 2023 Listed Castle Tankard, picked up the ninth win of his career when he won Sunday’s Independence Trophy.
Another booted home by Deryl Daniels, six-year-old Ideal View powered home to win by a convincing two lengths.
Trained by Debra Swanson, the Riyo Stud bred Ideal View is out of the Ideal World mare Idaho.
His multiple graded stakes winning sire Global View, whose progeny include reigning Horse Of The Year Dave The King, was South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2019-2020.
