The Alchemy’s resident sire Where’s That Tiger has been represented by some smart winners from his first South African crop of runners this year, and the son of Storm Cat gained further traction on Monday when enjoying 2yo feature race success.
Where’s That Tiger daughter Pulcheria made it back to back wins when running out a courageous, 0.75 parts of a length winner of the Kimberley Nursery over 1400m at Flamingo Park on Monday.
Bred by Dr Ian Heyns, the filly, a winner of her previous outing, dug down to best male rival All About The Bass by three parts of a length.
It was another 11 lengths back to third place finisher Andalusian.
Pulcheria, who was produced by the Damascus Gate mare Aurelia Magna, was a R30 000 buy from the 2017 March Yearling Sale, and Monday’s win pushed her earnings to R110 500.
To date, her sire Where’s That Tiger has been represented by eight SA runners in his first South African crop who have won or been in the money.
Runner up in the G3 UAE 2000 Guineas, Where’s That Tiger’s previous notably runners include such high class stakes performers as Supertube, Tiger’s Touch, Tiger Quest and Samurai Blade.
A son of multiple US champion sire Storm Cat, Where’s That Tiger has eight lots on offer at August’s National Two Year Old Sale.
