Feature race winner highlights Trippi four-timer

27th Nov 2017

Drakenstein Stud’s champion sire Trippi is seldom out of the news for long, and the son of End Sweep was at it again this weekend, when Trippi was represented by four individual winners.

Trippi

The Trippi quartet included Miracle Bureau, who made it win number five when landing the November Stakes on Friday.
Trained by Tara Laing, and steered to victory by Callan Murray, Miracle Bureau outclassed his rivals to score a 3.5 length win in Friday’s 1400m feature race.

Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Miracle Bureau has now won or placed in 14 of his 22 starts and won’t stop here.

The son of Trippi was a R500 000 purchase from the 2014 March Yearling Sale.

Miracle Bureau was one of four local winners for Trippi this weekend. The sire’s other weekend winners included Miss Milanna, a facile 2.75 length winner for trainer Dean Kannemeyer on Friday night and Saturday’s three length maiden winner The Sun Also Rises. (The latter is bred on the same Trippi/Jet Master cross as current 3yo star Miss Katalin).

Trippi is also sire of Chepardo, who made it win number five when scoring, under 59,5kgs, over 1400m for trainer Alec Laird on Sansui Summer Cup on Sunday. Bred by Highlands Stud, Chepardo, who won his first four races in a row, was a R350 000 buy from the 2013 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Gold Standard

Trippi is enjoying his usual top class season, with his recent big race winners including 2017 Lanzerac Ready To Run Stakes winner Miss Katalin and Listed Golden Loom Handicap hero Graduation Day.

Champion Sire in South Africa in 2015-2016, Trippi will be represented by runners in both this weekend’s G2 WSB Cape Merchants and G2 WSB Green Point Stakes.
