First crop sales success for Wylie Hall

2nd May 2018

Cheveley Stud’s well performed young stallion Wylie Hall made a splash with his first yearlings at the Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale last week.
The son of Redoute’s Choice had yearlings make up to R650 000, and ended the first session of the three day auction with two of his three yearlings having grossed R1 025 000.

Wylie Hall’s yearlings averaged a eye catching R512 500 during the select session.

His top lot sold was Whisky Tango (Lot 83), a filly consigned by Lammerskraal Stud who was knocked down for R650 000.

A son of outstanding sire Redoute’s Choice, Wylie Hall was a superb athlete, whose victories included both the G1 Champions Challenge and G1 SA Derby. Also first past the post in the 2014 G1 Vodacom Durban July –a race won previously by current sire standout Dynasty, Wylie Hall won or placed in 10 feature races during his illustrious career.

Among the numerous stars defeated by the R3.6 million plus earner include such champions as Majmu (also by Redoute’s Choice), Heavy Metal, Futura, In The Fast Lane, Capetown Noir and Cherry On The Top.

The bay, who hails from the same family as champions Dance Hero, Melody Belle and seven time G1 winner Grand Armee, shares his triple Australian champion sire with such sire standouts as Snitzel, Stratum and Not A Single Doubt.
