Varsfontein Stud’s well performed young stallion Master Of My Fate looks likely to be represented by his first runner this weekend.
The bay son of Jet Master will be represented by his 2yo son Masta Silva, who lines up in a maiden juvenile plate over 800 metres at Scottsville this Sunday.
Trained by Gavin Van Zyl, Masta Silva was bred by the Reinels Stud and is out of the Silvano mare Silver Vanity.
His sire Master Of My Fate –at R3 000 000 the top colt sold from the 2011 National Sale- was a top class athlete, who won six of his only eight starts.
Master Of My Fate, who won from 1200-1800 metres, won both the G2 Premier Trophy and G2 Peninsula Handicap, before defeating all of Capetown Noir, King Of Pain, Wylie Hall, Do You Remember, Jackson and Master Sabina in the 2014 G1 J&B Met.
A son of seven times champion sire Jet Master, Master Of My Fate is one of two stakes winners produced by Elliodor’s Equus Champion Promisefrommyheart. The latter’s stakes winning daughter Justthewayyouare is dam of G3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup/G3 East Cape Derby winner Captain Splendid.
From the same family as Breeders’ Cup winning sire Pluck, Master Of My Fate has two lots on offer at January’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale, including a half-brother to G1 Mercury Sprint winner August Rush (Lot 211) and a half-brother to G1 Gold Cup hero Ancestral Fore (Lot 10).
