21st Jun 2017

Maine Chance Farms’ resident sire Querari was represented by an impressive juvenile winner at Kenilworth on Tuesday afternoon.

His daughter Angel’s Trumpet, bred by the Botha family, simply bolted up to score by five lengths over 1200m in impressive style for trainer Justin Snaith.

In the process, the filly (a R240 000 buy from last year’s National Yearling Sale) became the 12th juvenile winner this season for Querari.

The former champion and Italian G1 winner’s notable juvenile winners this season included Listed Dahlia Plate winner Joking, G1 SA Nursery third Wonderwall, G3 Strelitzia Stakes runner up Made In Hollywood and the promising Monks Hood.

Querari is set to be well represented in some upcoming juvenile features as well, with daughter Spring Breeze entered for the G2 Gold Circle Golden Slipper on Saturday week and another daughter Rings And Things set to contest this Saturday’s Listed Irridescence Stakes at Kenilworth.

Another 2yo by the sire, Zarnitsa, is a runner in the KZN Yearling Sale Million on Vodacom Durban July day next Saturday.

Sire of notable performers Querari Falcon, Cosmic Light and Kangaroo Jack, Querari, whose half-brother Quasillo stands his first season at Klipdrif this year, has  five lots on offer at next week’s KZN Yearling Sale.
