Ridgemont Highlands’ five time G1 winnng sire Canford Cliffs has been enjoying a good run of form of late, and the son of Tagula enjoyed more notable success on Thursday when his four-year-old daughter Jin Jin captured the Listed Grosse Hannoversche Stutenmeile (1600m) at Hanover racecourse.
Unbeaten in four starts, the Irish bred Jin Jin stayed on to score a game short-head win over Axana -it was another four and a half lengths back to the third place finisher Nica.
Trained by Bohumil Nedorostek, and ridden to victory by Maxim Pecheur, Jin Jin is the first stakes winner produced by the non-winning Okawango mare Josphiel.
In the process, Jin Jin became Canford Cliffs’ 17th individual stakes winner.
Canford Cliffs, whose first South African yearlings sell in 2021, is currently the sire of nearly 40 black type horses, and his G2 Antler Luggage Fillies Classic winning daughter La Falaise recently ran fourth in the G1 Schweppes Oaks (beaten just a length).
To date, the Irish classic winner’s progeny have banked over $22 000 000.
