Gregers, whose dam is a full-sister to the dam of prominent Cape sire Gimmethegreenlight , was knocked down for AUS$1.75 million at the Thursday session of the 2017 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

Consigned by Burke Bloodstock (As Agent), the mare was sold to Yu Long Investments and was the sixth million dollar lot sold at the Broodmare Sale.
A daughter of Commands, Gregers was a top class racemare, who won six and earned over AUS$900 000. Her biggest win came in the G2 MRC Thousand Guineas Prelude and Gregers also ran second in the G1 SAJC William Hill Classic, and was placed in a total of seven G1 contests. She sold in foal to Written Tycoon.

Former G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winner Gimmethegreenlight has made a sensational start to his stud career, with his first crop producing G1 winner Gunner, G2 Umkhomazi Stakes winner Hack Green, star sprinter Green Pepper and G2 Daisy Fillies Guineas winner Gimme Six. The latter is a runner in Saturday’s G1 Woolavington 2000.

Gimmethegreenlight, whose 2yos include recent G1 Allan Robertson Championship runner up Green Plains, is the covering sire on seven lots at the Mares, Weanlings & Fillies For Stud Select Sale. He will be represented by a single lot at the KZN Yearling Sale.
